16 Motivational Yoga Quotes

By: Macaila Britton

Quotes are a powerful tool used to help invoke inspiration, hope, happiness and more. Adding a quote into a yoga practice helps to achieve total awareness. There is something so powerful about someone sharing their wisdom. If you include motivational quotes into your practice, we would love to know which ones inspire you. There is never a wrong time to use these. For total serenity, I read/ say a quote at the end of my practice after savassana. I like doing this before I step off the mat because it is something I can carry with me back into the busy working world. Ending with a quote is also good for reflection and to pull inspiration from for the remainder of the day. Below are 16 motivational quotes that can easily fit into any style and level of yoga. Enjoy!

1)Peace Pilgrim

"When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others."

2)Erich Schiffman

“It is not arrogant or egotistical to feel good inside. You had nothing to do with it. It’s simply the honest response to clearly perceived reality.”

3)Eckhart Tolle

"Accepting means you allow yourself to feel whatever it is you are feeling at that moment. It is part of the isness of the Now. You can't argue with what is. Well, you can, but if you do, you suffer."

4)Albert Einstein

"A person experiences life as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. Our task must be to free ourselves from this self-imposed prison, and through compassion, to find the reality of oneness."

5)Osho

6)Julie Weiland

“Change is not only inevitable, but always happening. When you truly embrace this concept of change being constant, the only thing left to do is grow, detach, venture inwards, touch the spirit and find your source — the one responsible for keeping you grounded through the ever-changing seasons of life.”

7)Rolf Gates

"Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.”

8)Deepak Chopra

"In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you."

9)Oprah

11)B.K.S. Iyengar

“Yoga allows you to rediscover a sense of wholeness in your life, where you do not feel like you are constantly trying to fit broken pieces together.”

13)C.S. Lewis
